Welcome to UnPerfecting Motherhood!
My name is Tomashia and I am a wife and mother. I have been married to my loving husband, Raymond, since 2006. God allowed us to welcome three beautiful children into this world, but my first attempt at motherhood was to my stepdaughter when I entered her life at age 5.
This blog is something I have wanted to do for a while as I journey through life, learning about parenting and the different stages of motherhood. I am one of those people who tries really hard to get everything right (some call that being a perfectionist). I can sometimes be my worst critic and this has definitely been the case with my mothering. If I’m not the most perfect launderer, cosmetologist, chef, housekeeper, teacher, groomer, and all the many tasks that come along with being a mom, I’ll be the first to pass judgment on myself. I was not 100% prepared for parenting and all the twists and turns it brings, but as I grow and learn, I know there is no such thing as the “Perfect” mom. My goal as a mother is to provide a Christian foundation for my children just as my parents did for me. I want to help moms realize how important our roles are in the lives of our children. If you are a mom like me who tries to conquer the world and take on everything, my prayer is this blog will help you with your journey.
As I provide self reflection and journal my feelings and experiences, I hope to inspire other women in “Un-Perfecting” motherhood and just live and learn and be the best mom you can be! Our kids don’t expect us to be perfect.
